[JohnStratford, 20/07/2010] We stayed at Chateau les Bruyeres for 5 nights in early July and it was a perfect visit. The setting is wonderful, the rooms very comfortable, we appreciated the art display and the food some of the best we had in France. Moreover, the staff are kind, attentive, friendly and very helpful. In addition it was excellent value for money. The Chateau is also a splendid centre from which to tour the Calvados region and wider Normandy. I have seldom enjoyed myself so much in over 45 years of taking vacations in France. A most definite recommendation!

[lauragerry, 01/06/2009] We only had one night at this lovely property and truly enjoyed it. The chateau itself is gorgeous. The setting is truly pastoral with grazing cows & a charming herb garden. The drive up to the chateau is impressive and you know you're in for a treat which is confirmed at reception.
We had a beautifully decorated room on the 2nd floor and yes, our bags were carried up for us.
The decor of all public rooms is perfectly done in true chateau style.
Grounds are a nice place stroll or sit & take in the solitude of the area. The "theme" of the chateau is horses and in addition to the live

[peterburridge37, 18/05/2009] Friends had recommended Chateau les Bruyeres to us , so we knew that it was good. However, we have to say this was by far and away the best value accommodation we have stayed in in Europe in several trips over the last 4 years.
Every aspect of the Castle is of an exceptional standard - spacious, comfortable, clean and well maintained.
Mathieu is an extremely helpful and considerate manager. Nothing was too much trouble, even helping guests with the hotel Internet access when the mysteries of the French keyboard become too much.
We stayed for 3 nights, using Cambremer as a base to exp

[sevanoak, 08/05/2009] We had previously stayed at Chenevriere Castle which is very good and had therefore set a high benchmark in our mind, however the Bruyeres comfortably exceeded our expectations.
The setting is beautiful and the view from our room across the front grounds is stunning.
We found the room very comfortable and spacious.
The staff team is young, very friendly and attentive and speak very good english.
The high point of our stay was undoubtedly the food. The presentation is contemporary & the food styles a mixture of original highly creative combinations and more traditional food matches

[richayoette, 26/04/2009] Fabulous chateau - very grand and comfortable and very close to some great sites! The Normandy beaches are very near by and a must see! The town of Lisieux is also very near and a wonderful little place.
The Chateau was a welcoming place with friendly staff. We had a large comfortable room for 190 euros (not inclusive of breakfast). The dinner at the chateau was superb! We had a 6 course meal and were delighted with every dish.
Chateau des Bruyeres is a wonderful romantic place with terrific food!
Absolutely perfect location if you are touring the Normand sites. The dinner we had ther

[johnbeavan, 26/04/2009] We stayed here for one night at the start of our trip to France and it was the perfect beginning to our holiday. The owners were charming and welcoming (and Vencelas the dog is a great ambassador for the chateau!), we felt relaxed from the minute we arrived. The chateau itself is stunning and our small but well appointed room was lovely. Within 20 minutes of arrival we were sipping wine by the pool soaking up the late afternoon sunshine and planning our evening in beautiful Cambremer. I can thoroughly recommend this place and hope to return one day.
