I visited this hotel on a ten day excursion in September 2004 and it really wasn't for me!
Location
It's located in a town called Calas de Mallorca which is approx. 1 and a half hours from the airport and about 1 and a half hours from the vibrant towns of Palma and Magaluf. As for the location of the actual hotel within the town itself it was about a 10 minute walk from the centre which housed the restaurants and shops while it was about 15 minutes from the beach.
Hotel
Walking into the reception area was quite pleasant, it was a classic hotel with marble floors and wooden desk and garden funiture to allow you to relax. The rooms were housed either in the reception block or in one of the three seperate, and very ugly, concrete towers which surrounded the pool area.
Rooms
The rooms themselves were all equipped with self catering facilities, as such we found ourselves with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge area that also contained two sofa beds for families visiting the hotel. The apartment as it should be called itself was spotless and kept that way throughout the holiday with cleaners coming in daily. However the furniture itself was clearly in need of replacement, with some of the floor tiles being broken and the chairs all looking a bit too well worn!
Pool Area
The pool itself was of a good size but surrounded by concrete towers, millions of sun loungers and yelling children - it was far from ideal! We spent as little time as possible around the pool, it would have been ideal for those of you with children as it was shallow throughout so you needn't have worried about safety. However if you're wanting to relax then the pool was a no go area.
Restuarant & Bar
There were two restaurants in the hotel complex, one smaller one that was just used at lunch time and one much larger one that was used for all the main meals. The food itself was of a fair quality, very much catered to the Americans with burgers, chips and pizzas being present at most meals!
Breakfast was pleasant enough with cereal, cooked option or fresh fruit being available while lunch and dinner were identical with a pasta option, the classic American option and one meat and fish with vegetables to accompany. There was also a snack bar open throughout the day which offered leftovers from the previous meal!
The bar was typical of any Spanish bar and was located alongside the pool. There was a wide selection of drinks with very plentiful measures being put in all of them!
Entertainment
For those of you with kids it would be ideal, there was a fully fledged kids club which kept children occupied all day long - and also involved them making a lot of noise around the pool area! As for the adults there was mini golf and other such "light" entertainment.
In my opinion I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I certainly won't be visiting it again. For the money we paid it was good value but that was as far as I'd go!
