[garymarsh6, 24/09/2009] The Egyptian Museum Cairo. We visited the Museum in Cairo one afternoon and in fact you could probably spend a couple of days here as there is so much to see. The museum is housed in a building of great halls built by the French in 1908. The halls are absolutely massive and the security is quite tight here obviously because of the vast collection of priceless treasures and also because of the threat to tourists. [derryguy, 25/08/2008] One of my favorite excursions whilst is Egypt is that to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, although this again can be a long day for those travelling from cities such as Hurghada it is one museum that is worth a visit, it must be noted that photography within the museum in not permitted, although on my last visit I did not a number of visitors doing so this very unfair as it has been know to cause damage to some of the artifacts.
