Village Museum

Das im Jahre 1936 eröffnete Dorfmuseum ist ein Freilichtmuseum, in dem sich originale Bauten aus den rumänischen Regionen Moldau, Transsilvanien, Oltenien, Muntenien, Banat, Maramureş und Dobruscha befinden. Der Ethnologe Prof. Dr. P. Gusti und seine Studenten organisierten den Abbau der Gebäude in den jeweiligen Regionen und den Aufbau im Dorfmuseum. Man findet hier Häuser, Mühlen, Kirchen und Werkstätten aus verschiedenen Epochen. Stavropoleos Church

L'église Stavropoleos a été construite en 1724 en plein coeur de Bucarest, et elle conserve encore son allure d'origine, ornées de fresques aussi bien sous le porche extérieur que sur tous les murs intérieurs. L'église a été épargnée durant la période Ceaucescu, et une petite communauté monastique est désormais installée dans un cloître reconstruit à proximité. L'église est ouverte tous les jours de 08h00 à 18h00, et la visite en est gratuite.

Romanian Athenaeum

Das Rumänische Athenäum wurde von 1885 bis 1888 erbaut. Es beherbergt heute die "Staatsphilharmonie George Enescu" ("Orchestra Simfonica a Filarmonicii George Enescu"). George Enescur (1881-1955) war ein rumänischer Komponist, Geigenspieler und Dirigent. Auf dem Tambour der Kuppel (Mauer zwischen Pendentif und Kuppel) ist eine Freskomalerei von Costin Petrescu. Romanian Peasant Museum

Le musée du paysan roumain présente dans un bâtiment du siècle dernier une collection d'objets reconstituant la vie rurale roumaine avant l'ère communiste, et cet écomusée évoque aussi bien les superstitions traditionnelles que l'outillage des éleveurs et cultivateurs. Le musée est ouvert tous les jours sauf lundi de 10h00 à 18h00. Il est situé à 300 mètres au nord de la place de la Victoire, et desservi par la station de métro Piata Victoriei (ligne M2).

Rated in the Guiness Book of Records as the second or third largest building worldwide (depending whether one measures volume or acreage), this building was originally named the Casa Poporului and features postmodern architecture. The 12-storey building features lavish touches (such as 4500 chandeliers) and was built to the order of Nicolae Ceausescu. Since his execution in 1989, the building has been managed by the Chamber of Deputies and houses the Romanian Parliament. Henri Coanda International Airport

Otopeni is Romania's main International airport. It has a departures and an arrivals terminal each with a capacity of 1200 persons at peak hours. The main airline it serves is TAROM (Romania's national airline) but most of the major airlines from all over the world are also present. Built in 1940 on the site of a military base and originally called Otopeni airport, it was was renamed to memoralize Henry Coanda, the Romanian who invented the first jet aircraft who died in 1972.
