Otopeni Airport in Bucharest, Romania has come a very long way over the past 15 years. Its gone from being cramped, crowded, dingy and dark, to being light, airy, welcoming and efficient. This has become a truly lovely little airport, if a bit shy on space and security. The first time I visited the Henri Coanda International Airport we had to walk the tarmac to get from the plane to the terminal - we weren't even given busses to take us because it wasn't far enough away. Crowds of people were milling about trying to get their passports seen to all while waiting outside [...]
