This is simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in in Europe and must rank as one of the best on the whole continent. We loved it!

We were fortunate to be upgraded to a spacious room overlooking the boulevard at the front of the hotel. The bed was kingsize and comfortable and the bathroom was a joy. Huge tub, separate glass enclosed show and lots of marble.
Two large wardrobes with a lit mirrored area between. Room service was excellent.

The recently reopened Royal Spa was glorious - although as we were there in high summer we didn't make much use of the facilities as we wanted to be out and about. As a couple with no children travelling with us it was good news that no under-16s are allowed in the pool and spa area. Families might not be as pleased as we were. However, Corinthia's other Budapest hotel, the Aquincum, does allow children to use the pool.

We ate in the Royal Brasserie on one night of our stay, which is also where breakfast is served. The setting is spectacular, in a glassed in atrium which gives a wonderful feeling of space. Food was fantastic and the service attentive without being intrusive.
Breakfast is a delight and offers a fantastic variety of food and beverages including, for those so inclined in the morning, chilled sparkling wine for a real "champagne" touch!

The only small point - and for us it really didn't matter - is the location of the hotel which is on a busy boulevard and a bit of a walk from either the Danube in one direction or heroes Square and City Park in the other. To make up for this, though, there is a tramstop almost immediately outside which also links with the metro just a stop along the line. It is also only a short walk from Lizst Ferenc Ter where there are lots of outdoor eating and drinking areas and some excellent restaurants and cafes.
