[Walders, 14/02/2012] The entire hotel has a strange pervading smell like a cross between B.O. and vinegar. The room I had was so small that you could barely squeeze between the wall and the bed. I had to put my suitcase on top of the wardrobe. The plywood furniture gives it a distinctly down market feel. WiFi is only available if you pay for it and the in room tea / coffee making facilities were let down by the lack of supplies, ie: one milk, two coffee, one tea and one sugar sachet.
[martanikolova, 17/01/2012] Well, there is nothing much you can see at this place, I mean it is really quite ordinary. But it is one of the symbols of Brussels and therefore, it should be visited. It represents a statue of a boy which pisses in the fountain. It is very small and you may even pass by without noticing it. So, it really is nothing special, but it is a famous landmark and you should spare a few minutes to have a look at it.
[martanikolova, 17/01/2012] The building of the European Parliament (the one in Brussels) is very modern and stylish. It is not located in the centre, but it is easily accessible by public transport. We used the bus and made one transfer (I don't remember the numbers, it was a few years ago and we asked for directions), but we reached it quickly, in about 30 minutes. There is not much more I could say about the building. I have heard that now you can go inside and have a look around, there is a special centre for visitors. I didn't know that when I was in Brussels, this should be interesting as well. I'll do the tour the

[martanikolova, 17/01/2012] We went there late on one of the evenings for a drink. It is a great place with all sorts of beer. I tried one with red colour (I haven't seen that elsewhere). The atmosphere is more typical for a pub, with wooden furniture and the feel of cosiness. I haven't tried the food, beer was enough for me to conclude this is a great pub.
Its location is perfect - right on the square Grand Place, amazing. You should definitely try the beer at this place!
[martanikolova, 17/01/2012] Wonderful place with a very special atmosphere. There is a lot to be seen around. The pavement, the architecture of the buildings around, the restaurants, cafes and bars - all that is spectacular. This is the most important tourist attraction in Brussels and it is clear why. The whole square is filled with an amazing energy, the sound of the people around and the sight of amazing buildings. All the buildings are well preserved with extraordinary details and ancient feeling of glory. Everything around was impressive, from every corner you can feel the history of this place all around. And you s

[Aldo26, 01/12/2011] Great Location 1 minute from Grand Place, but creepy street and entrance to the hotel. Rooms ok, small but warm, old bathroom.
Not great breakfast but amazing views from the restaurant on the top floor.
Good hotel to stay for a short period of time if the plan is to not spend a lot of time there.
[frangliz, 15/11/2011] When one of my sons returned from a visit to Brussels a couple of years ago, I can remember him going into rhapsodies over a meal he had had there. This was carbonnade de boeuf, or beef stew. He had tried to order the same dish the following day at a different restaurant, but confused carbonnade with carpaccio and ended up with a plate of raw beef that did not exactly delight him. He hoped to return one day and taste the wonderful stew again but wasn't sure if he would find the original restaurant.
He and I booked a weekend in Brussels for January 2010, but the harsh winter with snow and ice

[frangliz, 20/08/2011] The rue des Bouchers, close to the Grand Place in Brussels, is chock full of restaurants all vying for their share of passing tourists. Le Marmiton stands out somewhat, in part because of its prime location on the corner of the rue des Bouchers and the beautiful Galerie de la Reine. Some of the other restaurants seem to specialise in seafood, but Le Marmiton offers a little of everything.
We picked Le Marmiton as a good place to have a light lunch, as we were intending to go for a more substantial meal that evening. The restaurant was fairly busy and we were shown to a table for two; the wait

[frangliz, 16/08/2011] When booking a weekend in Brussels travelling with Eurostar we decided to reserve a night in a hotel through Eurostar as well. Their discounted deals make more sense than booking travel and accommodation separately. Eurostars Grand Place Hotel actually has no connection with the Eurostar rail company, but we chose it as it is a four-star hotel situated close to the centre of Brussels. The location was important as we didn't want to waste time and money on transport to and from the places we wanted to visit.
Eurostars Grand Place Hotel is on Boulevard Anspach, a short taxi ride from the Gare d

[DaveR, 17/07/2011] The main problem with this hotel is it's location. It is situated in a very run-down area, with a lot of closed down shops and shabby little (men only) bars. We did not feel very safe on these streets in the evening, and I would not reccomend walking anywhere after 8.00 p.m. Very intimidating, especially for females. It was a 20 minute walk to the old city centre, mainly through dirty streets, with gangs of men and vagrants hanging around,so a taxi is advisable.
The hotel itself is in a quite run-down condition, the room we had was dark and gloomy, and the double-glazing does nothing to keep

[veny, 28/05/2011] This hotel is located in the Airport area of Brussels. The rooms are always kept clean and have all the conveniences. Food is perfect. The bar in the hotel is excellent .I and my family enjoyed good service and good drinks. Hotel offers a fitness center which I visited and I was very pleased with all necessary appliances. The atmosphere is just fantastic here, the staff also. Convenient for holiday and business. Remarks are unnecessary. Brussels is a charming town with beautiful hotels. We will again visit the hotel.
[joveneli, 25/05/2011] The second landmark after Atomium which I visited was just Minieurope Park. Located in the beautiful city of Brussels, Belgium. Minieurpe Park is one of the biggest attractions in the city and especially for curious tourists decided to consider the most interesting places. Here I saw some of the most famous landmarks in miniature size. Over 300 models of European Union countries inhabit the park. Buttons are placed with the anthem of each country. I am very pleased with the visit to the park. Be sure to visit it.
[joveneli, 21/05/2011] This charm is in the center of the Belgian capital - Brussels. Its location is very convenient and comfortable. The square is surrounded by shops, museums, theaters, hotels, restaurants and bars. The buildings around the square are antique in baroque style. Extremely clean and well kept Grand Palace with an incredible charm attracts thousands of tourists. Beautiful flower carpet is located on the Square - unique. Attractions around the square are many. I loved the light show, which was accompanied by pleasant classical music. Spirit of the Middle Ages is anchored in the square. Grand Place i

[joveneli, 20/05/2011] Atomium is one of the attractions in Brussels and a symbol of the city. More than half a century Atomium continues to be visited by curious tourists. I also do not forgot to visit this exciting attraction. This huge landmark in Belgium can not remain unnoticed. The spheres are nine and they have galleries that are not impressive. Each sphere is connected with metal pipes to them is the movement of an escalator. The view from the top of the Atomium is simply stunning - I saw the charming city of Brussels, the landscape is definitely not to be missed. The visit to the Atomium was not in vain, d

[jipp05, 19/03/2011] Eglise Sainte-Catherine was a bit of a surprise on our trip to Brussels as it wasn't something I planned on visiting or even heard about before but it was close to our hotel and looked so sriking that I had to go and visit it.
Now I am not religious but I admire the architecture of old churches and Eglise Sainte-Catherine was no different.
Built by Joseph Poelaer who also designed the Palace de Justice it is a 19th century gothic church and it certainly evokes what I feel gothic should do. The sun was setting when we visited and it gave off an almost eery feeling. The fact that we were the

We arrived in Brussels by Eurostar and according to the information on the hotel website we caught the metro to the St Catherine metro station. From here the hotel was extremely easy to find.
Check-in was very simple and straight forward and we had our room keys within a couple of minutes. The reception staff were very friendly and efficie

[jipp05, 19/03/2011] I consider myself a bit of an architecture buff and I had read that the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert was one of the most beautiful 19th century shopping arcades in the world.
Although I am not sure it is quite as awe inspiring as The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in milan it is certainly impressive.
The galerie is covered by a glass roof which is actually a series of different achways and this lets the most amazing light in when it is sunny but of course this being Belgium it is more useful at keeping people dry against the rain.
The facades of all the shops are all extremely elegant in a

[jipp05, 19/03/2011] The Grand Place in Brussels is the heart and soul of the city and somewhere that all tourists to the city are bound to wander through several times during their visit.
The square is large and the buildings impossing and I found that it certainly made for an impressive sight.
The Grand Place is where you will find some of the most impressive architecture in the Whole of Europe and luckily nearly all of it has reamined more or less unscathed during the past few hundred years. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most visited attraction in Brussels.
Everywhere you look you are surrounde

[jipp05, 19/03/2011] I had heard about the Mannekin Pis for years and knew it was one of the most famous sights in Brussels so it was high on my list of things to see in the city.
It is actually a small bronze statue that is also a fountain and depicts a small naked boy peeing. How this strange little staute came to be is the stuff of legends and there are many different stories as to it's significance to the city of Brussels. To be honest though no one really knows why in 1618 Jerome Duquesnoy erected the now famous sculpture.
It is located near the Grand Place on the junction of Rue de l'Étuve / Stoofstraat and
