Located on the "stunning" Cable Beach, it has a "traditional" 19th century "pearl divers" design. The author describes an oriental "theme" throughout the hotel and a "friendly" and "efficient" lobby staff. The grounds are kept in "immaculate" condition and have a "profusion" of flowers.
The standard accommodation rooms are "pristine" and "very spacious". They have, among other facilities, king beds, air conditioning, televisions, minibars, tea and coffee makers voice mail, safes and irons. Rooms have "pleasant" pool or garden views and suites have ocean views.
There is said to be an "excellent" range of dining options with "fine" dining at the Club Restaurant. Then there is "specialist" Thai food in a "romantic" al fresco setting at the Thai Pearl Restaurant. The Kimberley Bar-b-Q is an "all you can eat" option and the Sunset Bar and Restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean offers "informal" dining at "surprisingly" low prices. Lastly, the Boardwalk Cafe and Bar is mentioned as having an evening tapas menu.
The Cable Beach Club is described as an "excellent" meeting venue with a secretarial service and a conference and events team. Although most of the staff is "helpful", some are "inexperienced" and "poorly informed" which results in some "minor" housekeeping issues.
