This hotel comes "very highly recommended" by Frommer's as it is considered "the finest hotel and restaurant" on Arran. All rooms are "comfortable", with the ones in the "new wing" having a slight edge, but in both parts of the hotel, "select fabrics" and tasteful furniture mean the rooms are well designed. Room service is "limited". The hotel itself, a " Victorian mansion" situated amongst "landscaped gardens and woods", is in "pristine" condition and offers a wealth of activities for adults and children in its "noteworthy leisure center". As for the restaurant, despite being "expensive", the "West Coast seafood" it offers makes it worth it, as it is "the finest" on the island.
