A trip to a Scottish island in January may not be everyone's idea of a good time, but we were in need of a change and didnt have time to go away very far, so we decided to go to Arran for a couple of days. Being January, there weren't perhaps as many options for accommodation as there might have been so we ended up at the Belvedere guesthouse. When I say ended up, it makes it sound like it was an awful place, but I guarantee it wasn't, as you will see if you read on.
