Braintree Golf Club was founded in 1891 and is not only one of the oldest golf clubs in Essex but also one of the oldest in England. The club is member owned and welcomes visitors. The 70 par parkland course has been part of the England PGA tour circuit since 1992 and features water hazards, narrow tree lined fairways and fast true greens. A bar and restaurant and a golf shop can be found in the club house. The club is located off the A120 in direction to Colchester, right before the entrance of the village Stisted.
