This traditional family owned Lake District Hotel is set in a Victorian country house. whether preparing for a day out on the Lake District fells, visiting a tourist attraction, or relaxing during the evening. Guests will enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere of one of the regions more traditional Lake District Hotels. All of the spacious rooms are luxuriously docorated and furnished including all modern comforts you would expect of a traditional lake district hotel. Some rooms enjoy lake views, all have en-suite bathrooms, colour televisions and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. All meals are prepared to a very high standard with its focus on traditional hearty home-cooked food. With locally sourced ingredients used wherever possible. Served in the stylish dining room with its fine antique furniture and relaxed atmosphere. Staff are attentive without being obtrusive. A traditional Full English Breakfast is served in the dining room from 08:30 - 09:00 am and dinner is served at 07:00 pm. Surrounded by magnificent scenery in the heart of the English Lake District, Bowness-on-Windermere is the ideal centre for touring the whole area and in minutes guests can be sailing, exploring the lakeside footpaths or the nearby fells, or visiting the homes of William Wordsworth, Ruskin, Coleridge and Beatrix Potter. Shoppers and browsers will delight in the speciality stores and attractions in nearby Windermere and Bowness.
