[Chris26, 11.03.2007] The author points out that the hotel is the hotel with the longest continious history of all hotels in the US. However, it's not "stuck in the 19th century", also thanks to "regular renovations" which keep the hotel in "excellent shape". The rooms are "not huge" and are laid out in "more than 50 different configurations". They're "thoughtfully" designed and "nicely appointed". Several rooms come with views towards the Old CIty Hall or the Government Center. There are special business rooms, and leisure travellers can benefit from weekend deals. The pattern of the beadspreads is "so gaudy that it's elegant" and a "reproduction of the original". The lobby "boasts" the original "American oak paneling". The restaurant is famous for the invention of the "Parker House roll" and the "Boston cream pie". The bar is fully of history, too. Frommers "very highly recommends" this place.
