The hotel is in a "great location" and of "relatively small size". The service is "attentive" but the hotel lacks due to its size the "abundant" facilities of the "nearby megahotels". The hotel is not very convenient to business travellers, but otherwise it's a "fine choice". However, guests will get more features from the "larger competitors". Some of the rooms are "on the small side". The decoration of the rooms is done in an "elaborate style" that goes well with the "Edwardian-era building". The furniture is "heavy" and "carved". Frommers "highly recommends" this establishment.

The author describes the Copley Square Hotel in Boston as having "quirky turn-of-the-20th-century charm " and goes on to say "its convenient Back Bay location is an all-around plus". He continues the "1891 hotel, one of the city's oldest" is both "busy and comfortable" with its "winding corridors and repro-antique furniture". The bedrooms he reports are "idiosyncratic" but all come with modern facilities such as "coffeemakers, and some have couches". Daily in the lobby "complimentary afternoon tea is served" and he tells us this hotel is very popular with "international travelers".
