[20/12/2007] Burdigala was the name given to the Bordeaux area by the Romans around 56 BC.
This hotel was built in 1988, "on the edge of Meriadeck", Bordeaux's business district, and is described by the Lonely Planet Guide as being a "plush pad", offering "slick service" which attracts the "visiting film stars", and even "non-celebs" who like to feel important.
Just "across the street" from a shopping centre, the hotels' 83 rooms offer "decadent touches" such as "Jacuzzis and multi-jet showers" in the top end rooms and "Annick Goutal French bath products". You can reserve a "mezzanine family suite" if you go with the kids, where you'll find "king-size wall beds" and a toilet and TV on each level. Also "wheelchair accessible" rooms are available.
In the lobby, you'll have access to an on-line computer, with "free high speed Internet" and a color printer.
The Lonely Planet guide gives full details on how to get to the hotel in the town center from the airport or the train station.
The hotel's restaurant, Le Jardin de Burdigala is "prime" for dining, offering "two- or three-course meals" with seafood being the speciality. You can also take an "American style buffet".
