The author starts by rating this hotel as the "best" and "more appealing" hotel in town. The six floor building is located in a commercial area. It has been renovated frequently and is now qualified as a "modern-day grand hotel". It seems "well-manicured" and tasteful. Its clientele comes from all over the globe ("business" travelers, "pleasure" travelers, "film stars" or "football" players). Burdigala was the name given to the Bordeaux area by the Romans around 56 BC. This hotel was built in 1988, "on the edge of Meriadeck", Bordeaux's business district, and is described by the Lonely Planet Guide as being a "plush pad", offering "slick service" which attracts the "visiting film stars", and even "non-celebs" who like to feel important.
