Located within the North York Moors National Park Bolby Forest lies on the Western slopes of Hambleton Hills. The long distance walk The Cleveland Way cuts through the forest which is a haven for wildlife. It is managed by the Forestry Commission who have provided several car parking areas with picnic tables and toilet facilities.

The Holy Trinity Church in Boltby stands on the site of a church that was built in 1409 although much of the present church dates from the 19th century. It stands on the route of The Cleveland Way, which passes through the village and the doors of the church are kept open during daylight hours. Visitors are welcome and admission is free.

Located within a farm building in the village of Boltby, the Boltby Trekking & Trail Riding Centre offers horse riding expeditions across the North York Moors. Pony trekking is also available. Lessons cater for people of all levels of experience including young children. The cost of a 30 minute introductory lesson is £8 per person. The long distance walk The Cleveland Way passed by the riding centre.
