[jo145, 06/02/2009] An interesting musuem telling the story of David Livingstone born in Blantyre in 1813 and just a factory boy, who grew up to become an African explorer and survived a fight with a lion.
There is an insight into the hard life led by factory workers in the 19th century. The lovely parkland, which originally was the Mill Manager's estate, has 20 acres for children to run around in and there is a beautiful garden with the River Clyde running alongside where you can listen to bird song and enjoy the peace.
The visitor centre has a shop and ac afe so you can get a snack, or a coffee whilst look
