People are so kind there that I forgot my mobile in a table (after tasting an excelet wine suggestion) and they sent it back to me in Brasil.

It was in an easy to find location on a relatively quiet road, had good facilities, was clean and comfortable and was only a short walk away from the Guggenheim Museum, shops, restaurants and the Metro. There was also free wi-fi in the bedroom, which was very useful.

Why did I want to stay at the Carlton?
My first visit to the Carlton was entirely accidental and resulted from a flight landing so late that the hotel Id booked with a colleague had given our rooms away. This was about 10 years ago before Bilbao was gentrified. In those days it was considered by most as a bit of a grubby, down at heel industrial city.
