The hotel is located in the centre of the village. Dolwyddelan stands at a natural and historical crossroads, at the foot of Moel Siabod (2861 feet, 872 metres), straddling the trout and salmon rich Afon Lledr, a river which wends its way through meadows and turbulent gorges northwards to join the Afon Conwy at Llyn yr Afanc.
The Castle, just outside the village centre, controls a commanding and awesome panorama, offering breathtaking views from the battlements that take in The Crimea Pass (Bwlch y Gorddinan) and the Moelwyn Mountains, towards Moel Siabod and away to the Denbigh Moors.Elen's Castle Hotel is just off the A470 which runs through the middle of Snowdonia National Park.
