[fizzytom, 14/02/2012] There are a number of places to visit that give a bird’s eye view of Berlin. There’s the glass dome of the Reichstag but tickets for that must be obtained in advance online; then there’s the iconic television tower at the Alexanderplatz but it’s not cheap and queues were immense when went past on a Sunday morning. You do get a good view (though from a distance) from the monument on the hill at Kreuzberg and it has the bonus of being free, however, when we visited it was starting to get dark and the view was deteriorating.
Fortunately we discovered the Panoramapunkt, a viewing platform tha

[iiqcheck-en, 06/02/2012] I enjoyed a very pleasant three days in your hotel, particularly the peaceful atmosphere, comfortable bedroom and friendly dining room staff at breakfast time.
[iiqcheck-en, 17/01/2012] Very nice exept very noisy early in the morning (trucks delivering offices at 6.00 am)
[iiqcheck-en, 10/01/2012] Absolutely lovely. I have stayed there twice now and have no reason to stay anywhere else. It is clean very smart looking interior, the rooms are perfect sized, and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind.
[fizzytom, 01/01/2012] The ‘Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt’ tells the story of the man who saved many Jews from certain death by employing them in his brush and broom factory in the Hackescher Markt district of Berlin during World War 2. The museum is kept by the German Resistance Memorial Centre Foundation and there is no charge for admission though I would urge visitors to make a donation.
The museum is actually housed in the building in which Weidt kept his factory and also hid a Jewish family. A visit need not take a great deal of time but is highly recommended.
Otto Weidt was born in 1882. He considere

[fizzytom, 31/12/2011] Currywurst is probably Germany's most popular fast food and, from modest travels in Germany, I'd say that nowhere is it more popular than in the capital. Sold in restaurants and fast food kiosks alike, Currywurst has become an intrinsic part of German culinary culture since it was created in the late 1940s. The 'Currywurst Museum' explains the origins of the snack and shows how widely it has entered the national conscience.
Currywurst varies little from place to place: it's sausage with a curry flavoured tomato sauce poured over it. The flavour of the sauce will vary according to the parti

[iiqcheck-en, 19/12/2011] very good location, friendly staff, great breakfast
[iiqcheck-en, 16/12/2011] Some of the reception staff were excellent but others were surly - for instance on our afternoon of arrival.
The room was quite small and noise from the elevator mechanism was intrusive.
[iiqcheck-en, 15/12/2011] I stayed here previously with my sister in December 2006 and enjoyed being in a hotel in a historic area and within walking distance of museums, Unter den Linden, etc. When we decided to return to Berlin this year, we did not look for another hotel. The staff at both reception and in the restaurant are extremely friendly and welcoming.
[iiqcheck-en, 14/12/2011] I have stayed at your hotel before and was as happy with it this trip as previously.
[iiqcheck-en, 06/12/2011] Overall I enjoyed my stay. The personnel was friendly, the location was convenient for shopping and U-Bahn. The breakfast was a bit boring, its assortment for 6 days was the same. Also there were not many TV channels to choose from and mainly they were in German.
[Aldo26, 01/12/2011] Great new hotel, fully renovated. Big rooms modernly decorated. Amazing big bathrooms with good hairdryer.
Good breakfast although the dinning room is the lobby with a little courtain they through at breakfast and dinner times...
Far from everywhere to go by foot, but the metro stop is two minutes away...
I would go back without blinking!.
[iiqcheck-en, 01/12/2011] It was a wonderful quiet hotel with very helpful staff at a good rate.
[iiqcheck-en, 30/11/2011] Nice hotel, great location and a fantastic breakfast buffet!
[iiqcheck-en, 30/11/2011] While the rooms are quite small the service was terrific! Breakfast offering was nicely presented and the addition of custom eggs was a welcome addition. Breakfast staff was prompt with a pot of coffee to start your day. Your little bar offers a lovely meeting place for a group such ss ours. Thank you
[iiqcheck-en, 28/11/2011] excellent stay . nice big rooms
[iiqcheck-en, 21/11/2011] Excellent location, close to Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Market. Spacious room, good service. Breakfast not very varied.
One major deficiency: no free wireless internet. Price per day of €13 is outrageous, certainly because not effective connection recorded.
[iiqcheck-en, 11/11/2011] I stayed in your hotel with my friends from the brass-ensemble "HeiliXblechle!". We enjoyed the breakfast, the comfortable rooms and the friendly team!

[iiqcheck-en, 11/11/2011] Honestly, I was a bit desapointed. I know you don't pretend having a 4 ou 5 stars, but everything was a bit like a cheap hotel, except the price.
Minimum in the bathroom
No french channel on TV(I travel as journalist all over the world and even at the end of Malaisya or in Beijing there is always TV5 chanel. We mentionned it at the reception and she just said OH yes, we know, we only have english chanels. I am not a tv watcher and english is ok for me but kwowing this I would not come with my grand-children.
