The Ritz Carlton is on the hot list 2004 of the US Edition of Conde Nast Traveller and therefore described on pay 270 of the issue May 2004. The hotel building itself "echoes the Art Deco skyscrapers of New York and Chicago". Once inside, you will find (as reported by the anonymous author) a lobby "dominated by a huge double staircase". He continues by describing the lobby as "an over the top riot of enormous crystal chandeliers and gilded polystyrene Corinthian capitals". Frommers describes this hotel as "one of Berlin's most glamorous and prestigious hotels". They say the building remembers the style of New York skyscrapers of the 20s ("Art Nouveau heyday").
