"Meeting, Living, Entertainment – Everything under One Roof" – that is the motto of the Estrel Berlin, Europe’s largest convention, entertainment & hotel complex. It comprises a multifunctional Convention Center, the 4-star-plus Hotel, which is at the same time Germany’s largest hotel with its 1,125 rooms and suites and also including an entertainment program in the Festival Center. The Estrel very soon made itself a name with its concept, both nationally and internationally.
The first part of the complex, the Estrel Hotel, was opened in October 1994. Since then, it has been presenting itself with 1,125 individually styled rooms and suites stretching across four wings of the building. The wings are interconnected by a giant 2,800 sqm atrium: it is 13 meters high and features a distinctive glass dome. With its multi-faceted gastronomic facilities, tall trees and the grand ceramic fountain, it serves guests as an ideal oasis to meet, greet and relax. A mini-mart, a car rental station and a Business Center complete the service offer. Furthermore, the Estrel has its own boat pier in the beer garden, the starting point for city sightseeing tours and other boat trips, and its own railway station, enabling groups of guests to arrive and depart to / from all German cities with chartered trains of the Deutsche Bahn.
The two more recent parts of the Estrel complex can be reached from the Hotel via a glass-covered bridge. The Estrel Festival Center was added to the Estrel Hotel in 1997. Since then, the reconstructed factory hall that houses a 1,120 sqm showroom equipped with permanently installed lighting and sound technology, has been staging the Las Vegas live show "Stars in Concert" as well as numerous show specials.
The entire Estrel complex was completed in 1999 with the construction of the Convention Center, which hosts around 1,800 events a year – everything from conventions, conferences and fairs via sporting events and TV shows all the way to top-class political summits. With an active floor space of 15,000 sqm, the multi-functional, fully air-conditioned Convention and Conference Center provides space for every type and size of event. The Convention Hall alone has a capacity for up to 6,000 guests.
