Cliveden is unique. The setting, architecture and interiors all speak eloquently of extraordinary extravagance and remarkable refinement. But thats not all. There is a palpable sense of history, for this is a house that for over 300 years has been dedicated to the pursuit of pleasure, power and politics.
The interior of the house does nothing to disappoint the sense of anticipation created by the stately drive and imposing facade. As the uniformed footmen usher you into the Great Hall, you are overawed by the expanse of space and the profusion of detail.
Guests have included every British monarch since George I as well as Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, President Roosevelt, George Bernard Shaw, John Profumo and Christine Keeler, Harold Macmillan and so many more well known names from the past to the present.
