Benidorm’s two main beaches, Poniente and Levante, both hold blue flag status and stretch over two and half miles combined. The two beaches offer differing qualities for visitors; Levante is closer to Benidorm’s old town and is usually the more populated of the two with visitors, whereas Poniente is further south and is often described as more relaxing and kid-friendly. There are however dozens of hotels situated around both beaches, ensuring you won’t have much of a journey to get to the sea! Situated on the Mediterranean Spanish coast, Benidorm is served by Alicante airport, just 30 minutes south. The airport is served by over 30 airlines from most major European cities and as a result the ground transport is also well connected. There are several shuttle bus operators who will take you directly to your Benidorm hotel, so arriving could not be easier.
Benidorm is also easily accessible by car from major coastal Spanish cities, Valencia is just 90 minutes away and even driving south from Barcelona is less than 5 hours, making Benidorm a good base for a longer exploration trip to Spain. If you are driving into Benidorm, you may prefer a hotel situated slightly out of the centre such as Melia Villaitana, which is a short drive to the beach nonetheless.
The Northern section of the city is home to some of the top attractions, the Vegas styled cabaret at Benidorm Palace and Aqualandia a renowned water-park; the perfect family destination.
