Fodors state that the current "magnificent Georgian building" dates from the "end of the 18th century" and offers an "excellent museum on the site of the ancient city's temple complex". Displays include "relics of the temple once dedicated to Sulis Minerva" as well as, amongst other things, "a mustachioed, Celtic-influenced Gorgon's head". The author states that "much remains from the original complex" and that "the steaming, somewhat murky waters" which had "drawn people here since prehistoric times" continues to be "undeniably evocative".
