Paddy Burt writes that Tasburgh House is a "truly welcoming" place. It has a "classy" Victorian drawing room which "flaunts" the hotel's turn of the century origins in a "blissfully comfortable" way. It has "squashy" sofas, while the neighbouring conservatory has "elegant" wrought iron chairs. Although the restaurant is "crowded" at the time of Burt's visit, the service is "swift" and the waitress "cheery". Her soup she describes as "very good" and "earthy", while her husband's Mediterranean chicken is said to be "unusual" and "very tasty". Her husband is also "enthusiastic" about his duck [more]

The Tasburgh House Hotel is situated a mile east of the town of Bath. It is described by Frommers as a "spacious Victorian country house" of redbrick, with a "large glassed-in conservatory". Built in 1890, it includes "stained-glass windows, and antiques". Rooms here are "tastefully decorated", and many of them boast "sweeping panoramic views".
