Condé Nast Johansens reviews the Dukes Hotel

Date published: Jan 2007

Article
[Fritzthecat, 28.02.2008] Condé Nast Johansens describes this "charming" hotel as "full of character and style". The writer was most impressed by the "wonderfully friendly welcome" he received after entering through the "elegant entrance". The hotel is situated in a Grade 1 listed "former Palladian mansion" and offers an ambiance of "understated luxury". The author informs us that "most" of the rooms feature "original intricate plasterwork and large sash windows". The rooms at the front of the hotel offer views over "more Palladio-inspired façades" and the ones of the back of the hotel overlook "rolling hills".
The author writes that the restaurant has been refurbished "recently" and describes it as "light, airy and relaxing". He notes that the kitchen only uses "the best organic and free-range British ingredients" which are "delivered daily from Devon".
