Travel guide extract
[Fritzthecat, 18.07.2007] The author tells us that this hotel is owned by the cellist of the London Symphony Orchestra, Tim Hugh, who also has a "love for interior design".
In the restored "converted Victorian house", which sports "cosy, spoiling luxury", he felt more at home than in a hotel and was especially impressed by the "original tiled hallway". The bedrooms are described as "comfortable" and "decorated with beautiful fabrics". The "most secluded" of them features a "four-poster" which can be "reached up a flight of stairs" and guests can enjoy one of "six types of champagne" in their room.
He notes that he rooms on the first floor are "traditional" whilst those on the upper floors are "more contemporary" and feature "oak furniture and sloping ceilings" and "brand-new bathrooms".
