Dating from "between 1767 and 1774", the Royal Crescent features "30 houses fronted by 114 columns" as designed by John Wood the Younger. The author states that it is a "majestic arc" which has been "much used as a film location" and is clearly "the crowning glory of Palladian architecture in Bath".
Number 1 Royal Crescent "has been turned into a museum" which offers visitors "a glimpse inside this splendor". The interior of the museum is "furnished as it might have been at the turn of the 19th century" and clearly depicts "a view of the English class system" whereby the lower floor has "a kitchen display" whilst it is said that "upstairs all is elegance".
