[Elainecork, 03/10/2011] I went to this bar for the first time in late sept whilst visiting my boyfriend and I can honestly say it's the friendliest pub I've ever been in. The staff were so friendly straight away introducing themselves ( unlike other so called irish friendly pubs in Basel !) . It is definitely a must go for all visitors. Just to sit outside on on of the main shopping streets watching the world go by , sipping a lovely cold drink in the sunshine. The staff can't do enough for you and always remember ur order. Do not miss out on this experience !!!!

[koshkha, 25/06/2010] I used to stay several times a year at the hotel Victoria in Basel although I can't say that I actually liked the place. It was usually booked for me by the company I visited there and I think they had a special rate although it still seemed very expensive to me.
The Victoria is directly opposite the SBB railway station and frequent shuttle buses run between the airport and the railway station. This was the main reason I didn't complain and ask to be put somewhere else, because I knew that no matter how late I arrived, I wouldn't be ripped off for a taxi, but could just hop on the bus.

[MarZ, 07/08/2009] The Tinguely Fountain is right at the Theatre in Basel. It was built in 1977, and is famous for its moving sculptures which spray water in all directions. This amazing fountain, with its curious water-driven sculptures made from old machine parts is at its best in the winter, when it is covered with thick layers of ice. Really wonderful! And if you’re a fan of Tinguely’s style, don't forget to visit the Tinguley museum in Basel, too!
[MarZ, 07/08/2009] The official name is Zoologischer Garten Basel (Basel Zoological Garden) but people from Basel lovingly call it the "Zolli". It is the second most visited tourist attraction in Switzerland after the Rhine Falls and it is considered 7th best zoo in Europe. The Zoo opened in 1874 and it hosts over 6,000 animals from about 600 species. . The animals are kept in vast spaces surrounded by exuberant greenery. Here children may ride ponies and even elephant. Among the most popular attractions are the Aquarium (also called Vivarium) exhibiting reptiles, amphibians, Gentoo Penguins, and King Penguins

[MarZ, 05/08/2009] The Tinguely Museum is located in Solitude Park. It is dedicated to artist Jean Tinguely who was famous for his kinetic art - sculptures that move. The permanent collection of the Museum presents a selection of his machine sculptures, reliefs and drawings. The exhibition has nothing in common with a normal art gallery! You don’t just look at the art but you watch it as it rotates, turns, flashes and squeaks. Some of the sculptures are lying still until someone activates them by standing on a large red button on the floor. Not all sculptures move, though. Some of the artwork gives its ef
