[more]The Dock Museum, which has been built over the Victorian Dry Dock, has exhibits which demonstrate the history of the town of Barrow and the surrounding region from Roman times to the present day. A large section deals with the Industrial Revolution of the eighteenth century and the industries of steelmaking and shipbuilding in the nineteenth century. The museum has a collection of model ships and access to the Vickers Photographic Archive which illustrates shipyard life. There are also rooms devoted to archeology and natural history and an art gallery. The museum has a gift shop and coffee shop and a childrens play area.

10am - 5pm (Tuesday - Friday)
11am - 5pm (Saturday - Sunday)
November to Easter
10:30am - 4pm (Wednesday - Friday)
11am - 4:30pm (Saturday -Sunday)
Admission is free.
There is free parking on site. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible.
