Detailed review by yummy_mummyx
When I discovered that Barcelona had an entire museum dedicated to chocolate, I could hardly not visit now could I?!
The museum is tucked away in the old town of La Ribera, just a short stroll from the waterfront and occupies a former convent. Its open Monday to Saturdays 10am to 7pm and 10am to 3pm on Sundays. Entry is 4.30 Euros.
Its quite a small building but theres so much to see that we easily passed a couple of hours in there. The entirely chocolate made Sagrada Familia, Barcelonas unfinished cathedral is amazingly detailed and totally stunning as are the Parc Guell lizards.
After browsing the sculptures, we peered through the glass wall at the patisserie school and watched experts at work creating chocolate artwork that it would be almost criminal to eat!
We finished our visit with a visit to the little cafe and chocolate shop which has a small number of chocolate drinks to choose from including velvet like, hot molten chocolate drink which we had warm madelines for dunking...bliss!!
Even for non chocolate lovers (are there such people!?), Id highly recommend an hour or two spent here for the sculptures alone.
