Hostal Girona was designed by Idelfons Cerdá in the 1860's at the hearth of the Eixample of Barcelona.
This building is located in a very priviledge area, as it is Girona Street, that belongs to the Quadrat d'Or. Its location is delimited by Aribau street and Paseo de Gracia in one side and Las Rondas and Avenida Diagonal on the other. Its recognition as a bourgeois neighbourhood coincided with the appearing of Barcelona's modernism.
There are three spaces, two of which have been refurbished and rooms made ensuite; it is worth spending an extra few euros on these .
Hostal Girona combines the spirit of this age with the facilities of a small and modern hotel which ambient denotes familiarity and comfort.

Hostal Girona is a 2 star Barcelona hostel located in the heart of the Eixample district, in the area known as in Catalan as the “Quadrat d’Or” (Golden Quarter), due to the vast number of historic buildings and places of cultural significance. A short distance from Passeig de Gràcia, Avinguda Diagonal and Rambla de Catalunya, with a wide range of shops, restaurants and local services close by. Well connected by public transport to the whole of Barcelona, with metro stations in close proximity.
Hostal Girona has 26 rooms, with a choice of single or double rooms with en suite bathroom or shared facilities in the corridor. All rooms equipped with TV, air conditioning and central heating. Towels and sheets provided, plus cots for babies. The hostel also offers luggage storage, plus WI Fi internet connection in communal areas and safe for valuables at reception. If you’re coming to Barcelona by car, there is a car park just 100 metres from the hostel. Here you are right in the heart of Modernist Barcelona.
