La Pedrera reviewed at Frommers

Date published: May 2007
Author: Peter Stone
Article
[rosehall, 29.07.2007] The author states that the real name for this attraction is "Casa Milà" and it is the "spectacular work of Antoni Gaudí's." The nickname comes from "its stony, fortress-like appearance." Today, the building stands as "the superlative example of modernista architecture" and Peter Stone adds that "the entire building was restored in 1996." Healso talks briefly about the history of this attraction and states that it was "commissioned by Pere Mila i Camps."

The building itself is described in some detail and it is proclaimed to be "unlike any piece of architecture anywhere in the world", seeming to "have been molded rather than built." In conclusion, the author states that "highpoint of the visit (literally!) is the spectacular roofscape" and that, in the summer, "jazz and flamenco concerts are held in this unique setting." Frommers award three stars, indicating that they consider the La Pedrera to be "exceptional".
