Did not stroll along the full length of Las Ramblas just seemed to pop onto it from a side street.
The paved area is quite wide with a narrow road on either side, these are one way roads. Lined along the roads are many old buildings with wrought iron balconies around them.
The paved area has a lot of people standing on podiums pretending to be statues, some of them looked fantastic and very realistic. If you placed a euro into their hat or bag they are happy to pose for photos and move around like clock work toys. Some got angry when people took photos without paying their dues.
Many artists where drawing people as caricatures or doing their portraits, these were also very good. A few stalls selling Christmas stuff where also along the route as it was the end of November.
One spot there was a bit of trouble, seemed like a local guy had tried to scam another Spaniard of some money with the 3 cups and 1 marble and you have to say which cup the marbles under. Well the bloke was caught red handed cheating and a scuffle broke out, so do not get involved with these type of scams. Another thing be careful of is pickpockets, we did not have a problem here but my brother in-law had his wallet and credit credit cards picked on the Metro, so be warned.
Back to Las Ramblas we passed the wax works museum never went in as we did not have much time. The Colom monument is where we left Las Ramblas, this is a high column with Christopher Columbus perched on the top with his arm pointing out to sea. Some people say he is pointing at something specific but apparently he is just pointing out to sea.
