Arc del Triomf have we taken a wrong turn
oldwasp about Arc del Triomf
The Arc del Triomf is located at one end of a large pedestrianised promenade close to the Parc de la Ciutadella. It was built in 1888 for the entrance into the Universal Exposition (world fair) and the designer was Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas. The structure can be seen from along way off, as you get closer you realise how big the Arc del Triomf actually is with it's reddish brick and crowned columns.. Above the arch you can walk under are the coat of arms from areas of Spain with another located right at the top, I think the guide said this was Barcelona's coat[...]
