nice timple, but nothing much

, 10/01/2009] I visited Wat Pho in March 2007... I was back from the Grand Palace (Phra Borom) where I spent half a day (it worthed it)... So the Taxi driver suggested to pass by the Wat Pho (as it was relatively near by)... I agreed and we went there, it's mainly a medium sized temple, and there you will find a Big Buddha Statue laying down. there are also some bowels were people might throw some coins and pray. you can by a soviner (nice art picture printed on a cloth)... other than that there is nothing really much, the whole visit took me like a half an hour.

According to Lonely Planet Wat Pho is the "oldest" wát in Bangkok. It features the "largest" reclining Buddha and the "largest collection" of Buddha images in Thailand. It was also the "earliest" centre of public education. The grounds are divided in two by narrow Th Chetuphon, each is surrounded by "huge whitewashed" walls. The "most interesting" part is the northern compound which includes a "very large" bòt, enclosed by a gallery of Buddha images and large stupas. At the moment the temple is undergoing renovations.
