The writer describes this hotel as a "charming Scottish laird's house" that can be reached byfollowing the "long drive through the golf course". Once you've reached the "historic-laden house" you'll be greeted by "comfortable chairs" next to the "open fire". The writer informs us that the owners of the hotel, the McLaughlins, haven't changed much of the 18th-century features of the building and he states that it retains "its elegant simplicity". The bedrooms are "large" and "tranquil" and offer carpets to sink in, "odd combed plaster ceiling(s)" and the beds are perfectly made.
He states that "most" of the guestrooms offer views over the garden towards the mountains whilst only two of the rooms at the front of the building boast views over the loch.
The author was also most impressed by the "multi-starred" dinner he was served and suggests that, if you should chose Ballachulish House as your hotel, you better be "prepared to be beautifully, lavishly spoiled."
