The Cascades are a huge waterfall system in the Atlas mountains, widely available as a day-trip excursion from hotels in Marrakech. On arrival at the village you will have no trouble attracting the services of a local guide! Pictures of this place can't really do it justice, even though some of the photos are great. it is quite an awe-inspiring natural feature, as the waterfall descends into a lush valley and river system that cuts through the desert landscape. Along the riverside there are bars and boat trips, and wild monkeys can be seen in the trees. The guide will take you on a circular route, crossing the river and returning on the opposite river bank, and this makes for a pleasant walk - you can also have lunch in a cafe overlooking the waterfalls. Highly recommended, a day you'll never forget.
