Located at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, the Macdonald Highlands Hotel is part of a large resort situated amidst Caledonian pine forest and green fields. The 151 guestrooms feature deep maroon and cream decor with dark oak furniture and include CD/DVD players, cable television, Internet connections, and bathrooms with hair dryers and designer toiletries.
Guests have a number of dining options, including Aspects, the resort's main restaurant, which serves traditional Scottish dishes, and the more family orientated Highland Food Court with buffet menu. The Laggan Bar serves light Scottish and European meals, sandwiches and snacks, and offers over 100 whiskies including 60 local Speyside malts. The hotel's leisure arena contains a 25 metre pool with wave machine, giant flume, and separate area for children. The spa has a number of beauty treatment rooms, offering a range of therapies and treatments, while guests can also relax on loungers in the 'beach' area or head for the steam room and sauna.
