The hotel has 133 deluxe rooms, most rooms have a private balcony or terrace. There are 4 spacious rooms and super deluxe rooms for disabled people. There are smoking and non-smoking rooms which can be advance with the reservation. There are 21 rooms available for events such as weddings, family reunions, meetings, etc. If you need equipment that are for rent such as a projector, sound system, white board, piano, etc. They have a restaurant and a bar / lounge. In the hotel there is a gym which you can use for free as a guest. There is also an ultra-fast tanning bed. In Drenthe you can enjoy cycling and at the hotel you can rent bikes.
At check in they ask if you want to pay in advance or at the end of your stay. You can pay cash, with debit card and your credit card. The advantage of paying with your credit card is that at the end of your stay you can pay in one go so including the use of the mini bar, restaurant and bar.
There are a number of different rooms in the hotel, namely: luxury rooms, a bridal suite, Kennedy suite, family room, studio, disabled room and three luxury rooms. The rooms are modern and attractively decorated; there are beautiful warm colours so you do get a bit of a "home" feeling. The rooms have a spacious bathroom with bath, separate shower and toilet. There is a hair dryer next to the sink and there is also an outlet for such as a shaver. The room itself has a mini bar and coffee and tea making facilities. There is a PC connection, and wireless Internet access. The room has cable TV (with regular channels and pay TV) and there is a nice seat. Ample closet space and there is a safe.
Most rooms feature a private balcony or terrace. We had a nice room, very spacious. We had chosen a non-smoking room. The bed was large and was fine to sleep in. The towels were cleaned every day and there were also three soap dishes, in the shower, the bath and sink..
The room has a small fridge which was sealed as soon as you open it you pay for it. We have used nothing especially since next to it was the price list was and that was all very expensive.
The cleaning takes place morning. By later in the day we came in the room and everything looked perfectly clean. The beds neatly made, in the bathroom everything was clean and there were clean towels again.
Prices vary per room. So you pay for a deluxe room for example 75 to 150 euro. We had a package this weekend were you pay 99 euros per person for a double room. This means two nights, two times breakfast and once a three-course menu. I find this a good price for this package there are a lot more packages to book.
There is enough space around the hotel to park and it is free. Near the entrance are enough handicapped spots. Also you can come by car near the entrance to get passengers to unload or suitcases.
It's quite a large hotel but it does feel cosy, this is probably due to the establishment. The room was ideal, very spacious, the beds were great and there was a bathtub in the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were all well cared for, and tasted fine, there was nothing wrong with that. This was (again) a positive experience with Van der Valk hotel.
