The Promenade leads you along the waterfront of Arnside and from here you can enjoy views over the Kent Estuary and the 522 yards long Railway Viaduct

To compensate the citizens of Arnside for the loss of shipping when the Viaduct was built the railway company built a pier which is still existing and where often anglers can be seen.
From here you can watch the tidal bore and if an incoming tide should come faster than expected a siren will warn you.
Further there are some notable buildings along the promenade like the Old Customs House, Salcote Hall or the building of the hotel "Ye Olde Fighting Cocks" which dates back to 1660.
