[magdadh, 07/10/2011] The meal we had at Barba Petros was among the more expensive (still quite reasonable in comparison to French prices for example) but also among the better we had in Greece. The restaurant is located in a prime spot by the main church on a central square of Areopoli, one of the major towns of the Mani peninsula.
The lady who served us spoke excellent English (as a re-emigrant from Canada) and the food was a great example of typical, traditional but also very well executed Greek fare which mixes robust, rustic flavours and a limited number of superb quality, local ingredients.
