[Kristoff, 29/03/2011] What a great find this was - a fabulous house, the owners have done a great job transforming an old farmhouse into a great place to stay. The room wan't the biggest ever stayed in but immaculate and really high quality. We've paid a lot more for a lot less. The gardens were awesome - these guys really know their stuff. And the little lake was the cherry on top, with ducks and all kinds of other birds I couldn't even identify. The place is class - period.
[cassis, 13/11/2008] La Basse Cour is a guest house 10 minutes from the centre of Alençon, in the centre of a small village and run by a couple who speak both French and English fluently. It is in the centre of a small village but is surrounded by 2 or 3 acres of landscaped gardens with a small lake, and looks across the fields to a forest. The rooms spotlessly clean, the beds a dream, and the breakfast croissants the best we've ever had. The owners know everything there is to do in the area, all the restaurants and everything there is to see.
