I was looking forward to go to this hotel after reading about the concept on the homepage. The two main selling points were the cool design and the shower with light and rain effect shower head. It's also close to the Airport, but you still have to walk quite a distance to get there. It's also very interesting to watch planes taking off and landing so close to the room.
The rooms are quite small, but designed in a way so that you dont need much space. If you have lots of baggage, the rooms will probably be a little on the small side. WLAN is free and there are a few computers and a printer free near reception for open use, which is a welcome touch. I believe all of the films are included in the price as well.
There's no mini-bar in the room, at least not in my room. You have to buy everything from the self-service restaurant near reception. The choice is excellent, with all kinds of drinks and hot and cold food. I would've preferred to have a mini bar in the room, but I can understand that it simplifies things a bit for the staff and helps to keep the price low.
A huge letdown was the multimedia controller which controls the ambience, tv, lights and blinds in the high-tech rooms. It's about the size of PDA and looks like it's connected over wireless lan. It would quickly go into sleep mode when not in use. The problem is that it takes ages to react when you want to do something simple such as adjust the volume on the TV. As the controller controls everything, this was a real pain. I did find some buttons on the back left of the TV, but that's not the point of having a remote control. If they had a dual WLAN/IR controller, this would probably help. The controller is not at all girlfriend friendly to use. This really spoils the whole experience as they make a lot of the high tech features in the hotel.
The best thing was the huge bed with a view over the airport. It's massive and you could probably get about 5 people comfortably in there.
They currently have a 'credit crunch special' offer of 69EUR per person if you book through the homepage.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel to people on a 1-2 day stopover in the city. It's close to all kinds of transport and is very good value for money.
