[hannah_i, 05/07/2011] With the park being outdoors, it's recommendable to bring waterproofs or at least an umbrella! The park has a great variety of rides, so is really suitable for everyone. It's worth considering when you visit, since the queues in May-August are rather time consuming, yet the weather in September-April can be disappointing. Clearly visiting during the holiday season will mean spending a good part of the day queuing (max. 1 hour for e.g. Oblivion / Air / Nemesis). Best to visit in e.g. April and / or start the day early before most visitors have made it to the park, or have the time to spend the entire

[B_O_M_B_A, 13/08/2008] Alton towers is located near the little town of Alton and is home to some of the best theme park rides anywhere in the UK.
[frankiecesca, 27/11/2007] Alton towers is one of the UK's most loved them parks. It is made up of a good mix of tame rides and thrill rides.
The park is set in it's own grounds with it's own home. The park has a big lake which is visible has you enter through the main gates. People can and do, chill out on the grass surrounding the lake during the summer to eat lunch or just sunbathe.
The them park also has it's own hotel which makes it easier for those who have travelled fom further afield.
Cost wise this is the only downside to the park as prices for an adult are a staggering £34 each. However during the yea

[CareBear, 10/08/2005] It's the first Saturday of the school summer holidays. Forecasters say we are in for a great weekend with lots of sun and high temperatures. Alton Towers here we come!
Sounds like a recipe for disaster! In fact, a jolly good time was had by all.
Alton Towers is set amongst rolling countryside in Staffordshire. Once a stately home Alton Towers is perhaps one of the best know theme parks in the UK. The park is set amidst the grounds of the house and much of the original garden landscaping has been preserved making it an ideal family day out.
