The station is the largest exporter of wild camels in Australia and sells camels for live export, live domestic sales and meat. Located against the backdrop of the George Gill Ranges, our unique safari cabins offer comfortable and affordable accommodation.RoomTypesKings Creek Safari Cabins are permanent canvas cabins constructed of steel frames, solid floors and lockable doors. Featuring light and power the cabins are twin share with all linen provided. There are shared toilet and shower facilities, kitchen, grassed picnic area and swimming pool.AreaActivitiesCamel riding: The camel train is led by our experienced guide who will be happy to answer your questions and take your photograph. Helmets are provided. Helicopter flights: Right on our doorstep lie Australia's spectacular Central Ranges, covering an area of 168,000 square kilometres. We have a range of helicopter flights available, from a 5-minute scenic flight to extended and exclusive charter. Quad safari: Mount a quad (four wheel motorbike), and see the outback as no one else can see it. Take a journey through magnificent Desert Oak groves, cruise over rolling red sand dunes, weave through thick mulga scrub and golden spinifex, pausing occasionally to shoot wildlife (only with a camera !!!).DrivingDirectionsKings Creek can be reached from a number of roads. Travelling from Alice Springs you have 3 options. You can travel via the Mereenie Loop Road, the Ernest Giles Road (both dirt and approximately 300kms from Alice Springs), or the Luritja Road via Lasseter Highway (sealed and 450kms from Alice Springs). If travelling from Ayers Rock or Erldunda on the Lasseter Highway the turn off is at the Luritja junction. Distance from Ayers Rock is 300kms. Kings Creek Station has a formed airstrip, suitable for small aircraft, and is the only emergency airstrip in the area.DiningFacilitiesThe kitchen provides tea & coffee facilities, fridge and gas BBQ; perfect if you want to prepare your own meal! Alternatively order from our extensive menu, which caters for all budgets and tastes. BBQ packs are available at the shop along with bottled wine and beer. Cabins are provided on a bed and breakfast basis. The Bushman's style breakfast consists of: bacon & eggs, toast and tea & coffee.
