Our Hotel is beautifully located in the heart of Alghero, overlooking the Lungomare Dante (a flat cliff with small rocky and partly sandy beaches, suitable for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling) . Close to the sights, shops, the Cathedral and the harbour. The bus station with its direct 15 minutes connection to Fertilia Airport, is only 200 m away .
Built in 1951, La Margherita has always been managed by the Masia family. In 2008-2009 it was gradually refurbished and now contains all of the modern facilities that to-day's traveller requires, yet still retains its historical appearance and significance.
La Margherita Hotel boasts 56 well furnished guest bedrooms. Each room contains as standard: air condition, fridge, safe, TV, direct dial telephone, wi-fi connection (available in the common areas too) . Hair-dryer in all the bathrooms . Two rooms have bathrooms equipped for physically challenged persons (the elevator of the hotel has the buttons at wheelchair level and a quite wide entrance) .
We have a panoramic terrace, where guests may have breakfast from springtime to early fall, a solarium and a garage (free of charge for bicycles) .
A private white sandy beach (2 Km away from the hotel) is at the disposal of the Hotel's guests, with free entrance and use of changing rooms and showers . Many public beaches, sandy and rocky, are reachable by foot, or by a short trip on the bus .
A close-by restaurant (about 150 m away from the hotel) provides clients with excellent food and service at cut price: 7% discount for the guests of La Margherita, except for the tourist menu (at the moment, its price is 15,00 € per person) .
The harbour is 250 m away from the hotel, from there you can take a boat to the famous "Neptune Caves" (natural carsic caves with entrance at sea level), or you can go there by car or public transport (about 25 Km), and then you go down 650 steps to reach the entrance .
Between the grottoes and the town, not far from the sea, there is the nuragic village of Palmavera, a monument of one of the most ancient and less known civilizations of the Mediterranean sea, ethnically related to the Etruscans, wich flourished in Sardinia long before Rome (approx 3000-1000 BC), and had various relations with many people, in and maybe out of the Mediterranean .

We have opened our new WELLNESS CENTRE (sauna, massage rooms, Turkish bath, indoor heated mini pool with jacuzzi). The use of the pool is free of charge for our guests , Bathrobes to rent, bath caps and slippers free .
