This is the worst accomodation I've ever booked, My family live in Alghero so I go there every year. Last summer we weer looking for somewhere near to my grandparents and also the beach. Lido DI Alghero looked a perfect location right on the beach with what looked like a lovely bar and restaurant. We spoke to the manager in March 2008 about accomodation who advised us he was halfway through completely rennovating the apartments and that they would be done by summer 2008. At a later date we were showed photos of what turned out to be rooms at a different hotel.
When we arrived we were taken to our room which looked like a shed set on the beach, the door was like a garden gate which didnt lock properly and with one kick would've been off the hinges. The worst was to come, we walked in and all I could do was cry it looked like a cave.
It was very dark with no windows, the walls were crunbling and the plaster coming off.
There were two single beds one without a matress the other filthy and stained, there were cigarettes and cockroaches dead and alive all over the floor.
The shower consisted of a hole on the floor and the shower head just hanging right next to the toilet. The door was not fitted properly and didnt shut and everytime we tried to shut it lumps of plaster fell from the door frame onto the floor where you would shower. also as the door didnt shut if the shower was put on the kitchen which was right next to the bathroom would flood. There was also no air con or fans and when we checked in at 10am it was already 2 degrees. And to top all this off they wanted nearly 800 euros.
Our only option was to complain and then sleep on my grandparents floor for a few days while we looked for alternative accomodation which ended up costing us more money.
This is the worst place I've ever seen I would urge anyone even comtemplating this to stay well away, absolutley horrendous I wouldnt let my dog sleep there.
